“Everyone can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”
MANY of our communities have been impacted by the immigrants who have traveled from other countries. Our communities are becoming privy to life, as most of us could not imagine. Children are amongst this crowd of people who have never experienced our weather and have no means of support from anyone, so they rely on complete strangers for some reprieve. Many of us are taking the stance that we do not want them in our neighborhoods for fear of health, crime, etc., which is a vital point. So, how do we aim to serve all people and continue to do the work we have been appointed?
Personal Story
A partner called and asked me what I thought about the immigrants. I informed them I had no thoughts followed by, I find it interesting that there are many people not giving to those who need in our country, but people want us to give to immigrants.
I had a reality check as I woke up in the middle of the night with a voice saying, “All of these are my children, and you are to serve them as well.” I lay there momentarily, fell back asleep, and was awakened again. The voice said, “You are to Love all my people and not be judgmental.”
I quickly began to look within and how I was taking on other mindsets, including a lack of empathy and compassion for humans. I am thankful for obedience and hearing the voice that guides my everyday life. Therefore today, I choose to serve all people to the best of my ability.
