FSSRI Council serves 15 diverse communities: West Englewood, Auburn Gresham, Beverly, Washington Heights, Mount Greenwood, Morgan Park, Roseland – Northeast, Calumet Heights, Pullman, South Deering, Hegewisch

Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Robbins (Southwest) and Hammond, Indiana.

Community Collaborations

FSSRI has built strong relationships with various community organizations to address the needs of the Far South Side of Chicago. By leveraging partners' expertise and resources, the council has implemented comprehensive programs catering to the community's diverse needs. These collaborations have facilitated sharing best practices, pooling resources, and creating a unified approach to tackling substance use, overdoses and mental health issues.

These initiatives have empowered individuals to sustain their recovery journey, fostering a sense of hope and resilience within the community.

FY25 3 Top Priorities

Expansion of Recovery Support Services:

The council has established new recovery homes, expanded youth programs, and increased Narcan distribution and education.

They have also enhanced harm reduction services by deploying mobile units and collaborating with organizations like Alliance Care 360 and the Centers for Disease Control.
